Every dog has a story or history and Ditto is no exception. Several years ago when I purchased Bree from Linda Perry at Patchwork Farms, I had a difficult time choosing between 2 red bi girls in the same litter, Bree and Lucy. About a year after Bree came to live with me, Linda called and said that Lucy had come available again and did I want both 'redheads'? Of course the answer was YES! Together the redheads started my mini program and became fairly well known and loved by all who met them. The 2 girls were so close in looks, but different in personalities. While Bree was always ready to play with me, Lucy was the Princess. On a good day she would perform maybe 3 agility obstacles in a row, then trot herself up to the house to lay on the deck and dry her nails, or some such thing. But, when it came to Delta training and hospital or nursing home visits, Lucy was the star. She wanted nothing more than an adoring audience and in that limelight she did shine.
After a couple years, Lucy went back to Linda. I told Linda I wanted a black bi girl and apparently she passed the word on to Lucy because this litter had 2 black bi girls in it - very similar in looks and structure. Another decision to make . . . And, for this particular litter, my 'Bug' was in the pedigree. There was no question that one of those babies had to come home to the Farm!
When the little black puppy arrived it was immediately apparent who her mother was. Then, after living with her for only a short time, it also became apparent that Lucy's wonderful, easy going personality had been passed on. This little girl really is a 'Ditto'! She loves everyone, wants only to be a lap dog and is as sweet as she can be. Add in her beautiful physical attributes and she is a great addition to my life and breeding program. This story would not be complete without mention of the wonderful co-own home Ditto has with Karen Rohde at Snake River Miniature Aussies. Karen and I had been talking about co-owning a dog together for a while. She took Ditto home and completely enjoyed the easy nature of this lovely girl. So Ditto is a lucky girl with 2 homes that love her. She is just fine with that. As long as food still appears and laps are available - life is good!
PS: She is sooooo black it is hard to get pictures . . . I love her expressive face. Her earset is natural and beautiful, she uses her ears as part of her expression. Enjoy!
